Preparation of the V4 Student Survey on Generation Z and Education
12.3.2025
As part of the international Visegrad project “How Generation Z perceives access to education and capacities in the V4 region”, work is currently underway on preparing a comprehensive questionnaire that will explore how Generation Z students perceive higher education in the Visegrad countries.
The questionnaire is being developed by the project team in close cooperation with academic partners from all four V4 countries — the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia. Its goal is to better understand how young people experience the current education systems and how they view the balance between traditional and modern approaches to learning.
The survey will focus on two main areas. The first section examines the role of innovation, digitalisation, and new teaching methods in students’ personal and professional development. The second section addresses the so-called “capacity crisis” in education, looking at challenges such as staffing shortages, outdated infrastructure, and limited opportunities for international mobility. Once completed, the questionnaire will be distributed among university students across all V4 countries. Their responses will provide valuable data that will form the foundation for comparative research and policy recommendations aimed at improving access to education and strengthening the capacities of higher education institutions in the region.
By engaging students directly in the research process, the project aims to give Generation Z a stronger voice in shaping how education evolves to meet their needs and expectations.
